CWS Glass Railing Systems: The Hollywood Owner’s Guide

If you have a CWS glass railing system with a chipped clamp, fogged panel, or loose post, we stock and install CWS-compatible replacement parts in Hollywood, FL. Typical installed pricing for a single panel replacement runs $75 to $450 depending on the glass thickness, hardware series, and whether the post needs resetting. Most owners notice the problem the same way: a panel starts rattling in a Gulf breeze, or a clamp shows the white corrosion line that tells you salt air got past the finish.

We’re an independent service provider, not a CWS factory outlet. That means we match parts honestly, tell you when an aftermarket equivalent holds up better than the original in South Florida, and stand behind the install with the same Done Right Promise we put on every job. If the pane is not true, the job is not done.

Which CWS Models This Applies To

CWS glass railing systems come in two primary lines: the frameless top-rail series and the standoff-mounted series. The difference matters because the glass thickness is not interchangeable. Frameless CWS panels are typically 1/2-inch tempered glass set into a U-channel or clamp shoe. Standoff systems use 3/8-inch tempered panels held by cylindrical standoffs drilled through the glass. If you order a 3/8-inch replacement panel for a 1/2-inch channel, it will rattle even with fresh gaskets.

Look for the laser-etched CWS bug in the lower corner of a panel, or check the clamp casting for a stamped series number. Pre-2015 CWS installations in Hollywood often used a shallow-channel clamp that no longer takes the current replacement shoe, so measure the channel depth before you buy. We quote OEM and quality aftermarket side by side on paper, the same way Dale Kessler has done for every window and door job since he started reading rough openings at Broward College. For CWS specifically, the aftermarket stainless clamp from a Florida supplier often lasts longer than the OEM zinc casting once salt air works on the finish, but we’ll tell you the tradeoffs either way.

We also stock parts for Andersen, and Pella rail systems if you have a mixed installation and need one crew to handle all of it.

Signs Your CWS Glass Railing Systems Is Failing

  • Panel rattle when someone walks by. The rubber gasket in the clamp shoe has compressed or dry-rotted. In Hollywood’s salt air, gaskets harden faster than the manufacturer’s inland lifespan suggests, so a rattle on a 10-year-old install is almost always gasket failure, not glass failure.
  • White chalk or pitting on a clamp or standoff. This is galvanic corrosion from salt and humidity working on a casting with a thin powder coat. Once pitting starts on a load-bearing clamp, the part should be replaced rather than refinished.
  • Cloudy edge inside a glass panel. For laminated CWS panels, this is moisture wicking into the interlayer from a failed edge seal. It does not clear up. The panel needs replacement; reglazing is not possible on a tempered laminate.
  • Wobble at the post base. The lag or anchor has loosened in the concrete deck or is rusting inside the footing. A post that wobbles is a structural problem, not a cosmetic one, and it gets worse every season.
  • Visible cracks radiating from a standoff hole. This happens when the original installer over-torqued a standoff or the glass settled with deck movement. Tempered glass will not crack quietly; when it goes, it shatters into cubes. In Hollywood, deck slabs shift with heat and rain cycles, so we check standoff torque as part of every repair.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For Hollywood homes, here’s the installed price range we quote on CWS work:

  • Clamp shoe or standoff replacement (single part): $75 to $195 installed, depending on finish and whether it’s a quick swap or requires drilling new glass.
  • Tempered glass panel replacement (3/8-inch or 1/2-inch): $220 to $450 per panel installed, including gaskets and clamp adjustment.
  • Post reset and anchor replacement: $145 to $280 per post, including stainless anchors and concrete sealant.
  • Full-bay rework (multiple panels, post alignment): $600 to $1,200 depending on panel count and access.

The range comes down to glass thickness, hardware finish, and whether we’re preserving existing posts or resetting them. You get a written line-item quote before we start, no change orders, and both warranty layers registered in writing before the truck leaves the driveway. That’s The Keystone Standard, and we’ve held it on every glass railing job since 2008.

DIY or Call Us?

An owner can safely tighten a visible clamp screw, wipe down hardware, and inspect for the white corrosion line we described above. What you should not do is remove a tempered glass panel or attempt to reset a post. Tempered glass stores tension energy along its edges; one wrong bump against concrete puts a shower of cubes on your deck. A loose post into an anchor is a fall hazard if the repair fails. We measure, set, and square every CWS part the same way we do an impact window: check the rough opening before touching a screw, set it true, and register the warranty on paper. Measure it right, set it square, and the paperwork takes care of itself. If any of this sounds familiar, call (863) 334-2933 and we’ll walk you through it.

PPat and Ray L.
★★★★★

"A casement crank had stripped and the sash was swollen shut. The technician, Ray, fixed the crank on the spot and only then talked about replacement for the three windows that were genuinely done. That is why the whole street uses them now."

EEleanor G.
★★★★★

"Our bay window had rotted at the sill and two other outfits wanted to talk us into a flat picture window instead. TruePane rebuilt the opening and matched the original look. Neighbors have knocked on the door about it."
